Onyx Renewable Partners L.P. (“Onyx”), a leader in the development and finance of Commercial and Industrial (“C&I”) and small scale utility solar projects in North America, announced a very important groundbreaking ceremony for the Rialto Unified School District. The ceremony took place at the Rialto Carter High School on Monday, December 5, 2016. This groundbreaking signifies the beginning of a major step forward for the Rialto Unified School District that has plans for solar projects on all 29 District campuses, totaling over 7MW, in one of the largest School District installations in the Country. All 29 projects will reach Commercial Operation in 2017. Carter High School, a 1.1MW canopy installation, will be the first to start construction in December, 2016.
This deal was included in the portfolio of C&I assets acquired by Onyx from SunEdison in September 2016 and is expected to be the first of several closings in the near future.
