Onyx Renewables Achieves Bronze Certification for Advancements on DEIJ Issues
NEW YORK, December 17, 2024— Today Onyx Renewables (Onyx) announced it has achieved bronze certification through the Diversity Equity Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Certification Program from the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). Earning this certification demonstrates Onyx’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace and culture in the solar industry.

In 2024, Onyx Renewables made significant strides in advancing its DEIJ initiatives. A few key highlights include:
- Increased the representation of women in leadership roles to 47% by November 2024.
- Achieved over 80% participation in its annual employee engagement survey.
- Established its first Wellness and Fitness Employee Resource Group (ERG).
- Introduced a nationwide wellness and fitness membership program, supporting group wellness activities and fostering a culture of well-being company wide.
The DEIJ program was designed by Diversity Certified Professionals and uses evidence-based approaches to improve diversity practices within companies. The program guides participants through abroad range of modules on diversity topics, requiring them to complete activities that help create a more inclusive work environment, serve the communities they work in, and attract, hire, promote, and retain diverse talent. Companies earn levels of certification by completing each series of modules.
The program is designed to help energy businesses make progress from wherever they are on their DEIJ journey, and encourages participation from companies of all sizes, regardless of their budget or resources.
In 2025, Onyx plans to issue its third annual employee engagement survey and publish its second annual Sustainability Report, which showcases its philosophy and commitment to environmental, social, and governance issues. Additionally, Onyx intends to pursue the next DEIJ certification level, Silver, to further demonstrate the company’s dedication to DEIJ values. By integrating employee feedback, upholding the MARRC principles (mindful, accountable, responsible, respectful, collaborative), and aligning its goals with its corporate responsibility statement, Onyx Renewables continues to position itself as a leader in workplace excellence within the renewable energy industry.
